A Day in the Main Arena 2026

Buckham Fair 2026 brought together old favourites and new spectacles throughout the day.

The Southern Golden Retriever Demonstration Team returned with more than 20 dogs working together, while Benjamin Atkinson and The Action Horse Team brought spectacular horsemanship and liberty work to the arena.

Heavy horses featured throughout the programme, from the six-horse team and traditional drays to the final agricultural working display. The Lamb National provided rather less disciplined livestock entertainment, alongside the Buckham Dog Parade, Dog of the Day, Crufts freestyle and Ilminster Majorettes.

Together they made the Main Arena one of the defining parts of Buckham Fair 2026.

Visitors FAQ

Buckham Fair takes place in farm fields – which means that the terrain can be uneven and is completely at the mercy of the weather.

If the weather is dry, the fields are generally dry and the use of wheelchairs and mobility scooters are completely manageable, however, if it has been raining, we do not advise using wheelchairs or mobility scooters, as the fields can become incredibly muddy and treacherous.

We couldn’t run the fair without the help of the Buckham Fair volunteers, who help with the event set up, the run of the event activities on the day, and the event breakdown afterwards.

As the hosts of Buckham Fair, both Martin and Philippa are very hands-on when it comes to ensuring the smooth running and success of the event.

Whether Martin is judging an event or taking part in a display himself, there will be several opportunities for you to see him at Buckham Fair.

Because of this, he’s also a very busy man on the day, and although he’d love to meet as many people as possible, there simply aren’t enough hours in the day. As a result, it is not possible for us to arrange meet-and-greets with Martin.

However, he’s always around – and when he’s not busy, you are more than welcome to say hello.

Buckham Fair is not a campground, and therefore, we cannot cater for overnight camping.

A day around the main arena

The 2026 programme moved from skilled dog displays and the Lamb National to working horses, traditional drays and the Action Horse Team. It was the range—not simply the timetable—that gave the arena its character.
